We all do it...ok...I won't speak for you. I know I do it. I give myself legitimate reasons to not grow, to not heal. I give myself legitimate excuses to stay right where I am. I give myself outs. Well, no more my friends! God does NOT want us to stay where we are. Living "overwhelmed" or "stuck" should not be the norm! Let's take the brave step to identify what is keeping us right where we are and keeping us from where we want to be-- OURSELVES! In today's episode, I talk about common excuses, comments, and things that keep us right where we are. Do you use these or is it just me?

There is nothing worse than going through something that really shakes you to your core- and then someone minimizes what you are going through because someone's story is "worse". I talk all the time about grief- it's what I do. Grief comes with SO many experiences than just loss of a loved one. Losing a love one is SO SO hard for sure. There is no question. But we don't know what other people are going through. We do not know how their circumstances have compounded over time or how the hardships they are facing impact their life, their world. I talk about grief and being broken-spirited, but I want you to define what grief looks like for you. As a society we need to start talking about grief. We can't give permission slips for some and not others. In today's episode I respond to a few comments I have received about talking about grief of losing a job to grief of losing a person. I explain why I talk about it like I do and why I think it should be talked about. Listen in!

In today's episode I share some stories and personal revelation about gifts of grief. I open up a little about my life and some of the crazy experiences I have had that have been sponsored by grief and how I handled them (some with grace- others not so much!) But we have to get out of our own minds and our own way when it comes to grief. We have to allow the exprience to shape us, mold us, teach us, help us see life in a completely differnt way. Come on now...you know we have ALL said it. "I want to ... and when I get the MOTIVATION, nothing is going to stop me!" "When I FEEL like it, I'll start." We are all plagued with the feeling of wanting to be motivated. We have dreams, goals, desires, wishes, needs...all the things but we stop ourselves because we don't FEEL like it or we aren't motivated. What would happen if we did it anyway? Is motivation really what we need in the first place? Where does motivation come from? What is really the cost for waiting for motivation?

Today's episode was inspired by some questions and comments I saw from some widows. As I read their comments and listened to their hearts question if they will ever get through "it" and if they are doing "it" right...I realized that there are so many things we ask the same questions about. So even if you aren't a widow- listen to this episode and you can replace it with whatever your questions are. Take the permission slip and take walk the journey you need to walk. Friends and family (and of course the bossy lady down the street) well they all have opinions of how things should be done- or what they think things should look like. The reality is- they have not walked your walk. They do not know your struggles and your future. It is ok to not accept every piece of advice that someone offers! In fact- give yourself permission to say "I've got this"!!!! Take each day and take the steps to live! Once we are on this journey-- the destination is heaven...so don't try to bypass the present moment to get through to the next step.
I hope this episode brings you encouragement! It is a good reminder for myself as well!
