#252 Transforming Criticism into Clarity: How a Clear Vision Can Empower Your Focus
Thursday Sep 26, 2024
Thursday Sep 26, 2024
One of the biggest mistakes people make (even if they aren’t trying to start a business) is having a limited vision. Even in Proverbs, King Solomon talked about people perishing without vision. I don’t know about you, but I am not here to perish! I am here to prosper! I want to make an impact. And I know you do too!
We are DIVING deep into vision over the next few weeks! I hope you are ready to go on the journey with me.
Today, I discuss how having a clear vision can help you bounce back when you get sidetracked…or, worse, disillusioned.
Check out this resource I created with you in mind!

The feeling of being overwhelmed, stuck, and overextended doesn’t have to be your natural state (even if it is the common state of America). We have become so used to feeling overwhelmed that it’s become the silver medal to our “busy” lifestyle. It doesn’t have to be that way! As an entrepreneur, I feel like we get a double whammy of it. We are multi-passionate, multi-faceted, and multi-visionaries (we have goals for ourselves, our families, and our businesses).
It doesn’t have be this way! One of the biggest challenges we have in understanding why we do what we do so that we can have what we want to have. We are not afraid of hard work…and yet we find ourselves working so hard- just to make things work. It doesn’t have to be this way!
Today I talk about my client, Sarah, who is an amazing woman, really she was considered to be supermom. And she was tired. She felt like she was never enough and if she said no to something that she would be a failure or worse- never asked to do something again. When we started diving into her story and her choices. We first started with the Enneagram.
“This changed everything for me,” said Sarah, “this has helped me understand my needs, desires, and goals more than anything else and now I can set boundaries and still feel needed.”
What would be possible for you if you knew why you did what you did and how to adapt to start doing what you want and need to do rather than your instinctual reaction?
Let’s dive in!
The 5 Ways the Enneagram Elevates Self Awareness:
- Clarifying Your Why: Understand your core motivations and align your actions with your purpose.
- Spotting Blind Spots: Recognize your weaknesses and make strategic decisions to avoid pitfalls.
- Building Stronger Relationships: Improve communication and anticipate needs, strengthening connections with clients, partners, and loved ones.
- Leading Authentically: Lead confidently and authentically, attracting the right people and building a brand that reflects the true you.
- Mastering Emotional Responses: Manage your emotions effectively and maintain clarity even in challenging situations.

- Book a Call with Me!
- Set a time on your calendar right before our call to take a moment and breathe. This is the only preparation you'll need. It's that easy!
- Join the call and allow your heart to be heard and seen.
Key Takeaways:
- Balancing Responsibilities: Sarah, an entrepreneur and mother, struggled with burnout and dissatisfaction despite her success due to overextending herself in personal and professional commitments.
- Self-Discovery through the Enneagram: Sarah's journey of self-awareness began with the Enneagram, where she identified as a Type Two, characterized by a desire for love and fear of unworthiness. This understanding helped her recognize her tendency to prioritize others' needs over her own.
- Establishing Boundaries: With the help of a coach, Sarah learned to set boundaries and say "no" to commitments that didn't align with her values, leading to increased energy and business revenue.
- Importance of Self-Awareness: The Enneagram was highlighted as a tool for enhancing self-awareness, helping individuals clarify motivations, spot decision-making blind spots, manage emotions, build stronger relationships, and lead authentically.
- Personal Growth and Fulfillment: Sarah's journey emphasized the importance of separating self-worth from actions and embracing one's identity, leading to growth in business, family relationships, and personal well-being.
- Workshops and Resources: Tami announced upcoming workshops and resources aimed at helping individuals create visions, build self-care plans, and enhance productivity, encouraging them to pursue their goals with confidence and clarity.
Journal Question:
When was the last time you felt overwhelmed, stuck, or burnt out? Did you feel like you were saying yes to things that you didn’t want to or no to things you long to do? Reflect on the reason why you felt compelled to say yes or no. If you could have done it differently, what would you have done?

Monday Sep 16, 2024
Monday Sep 16, 2024
"Mistakes are not the journey's conclusion but opportunities for growth and learning." ~Tami Imlay
We are inevitably going to make mistakes. What if not everything is done TO us, but what if we look at them as done FOR us? How would that change your perspective on mistakes? If you knew something good would come from everything we go through, how would that shift your outlook?
Some of my biggest mistakes are what led to the most significant transformations. Some of the biggest missteps gave me so much clarity that I am GRATEFUL that I went through the pain. They did hurt, and I had to work my butt off- AND I am strong because of it!
Ready to take action?
- Book a Call with Me!
- Set a time on your calendar right before our call to take a moment and breathe. This is the only preparation you'll need. It's that easy!
- Join the call and allow your heart to be heard and seen.
Key Takeaways:
- Embrace Mistakes as Learning Opportunities: Mistakes are not failures but chances for growth and learning. Reflect on what went well, what lessons can be learned, and how to adjust for the future.
- Understand Your Motivations: Revisit and realign with your deeper motivations or "why," which should extend beyond personal concerns to include a broader purpose.
- Take Ownership: Acknowledge and own your mistakes instead of blaming others, as this empowers you to learn and grow from the experience.
- Seek Feedback and Support: Share your mistakes with trusted individuals to gain new perspectives and clarity, which can lead to potential solutions.
- Develop a New Action Plan: Use insights from your experiences to create a new, manageable action plan that outlines specific steps for moving forward.
- Growth Through Adversity: Mistakes can be catalysts for personal and professional development, and embracing them can lead to transformation and a clearer vision for achieving goals.
- Support and Community: You are not alone in your struggles; seek support and guidance from others to help navigate your journey.
Journal Question:
Reflect on a recent mistake you made: What lessons did you learn from it, and how can you apply these insights to create a new action plan for the future?

#248 Avoid the 3 Costly Mistakes that Can Stop Us Before We Get Started
Thursday Sep 12, 2024
Thursday Sep 12, 2024
"Clarity and confidence are cultivated through consistent action, and trusting in divine guidance is essential throughout this process." ~Tami Imlay
Only a few journeys that have straight paths are worth talking about. If you think of the hikes, walks, and paths you have taken, the ones that are the windiest are the ones you still talk about and remember. The path to your purpose and fulfilling your calling is the same. As you journey, you will encounter hills, valleys, twists and turns, roadblocks, and detours…it’s all part of your story.
I want this to encourage you to take the first steps anyway. Use it to propel you forward because you won’t have the clarity or details you want until you start!
Today, I'll discuss three things to be aware of so they don't stop you from doing what you are called to do!
Ready to take action?
- Book a Call with Me!
- Set a time on your calendar right before our call to take a moment and breathe. This is the only preparation you'll need. It's that easy!
- Join the call and allow your heart to be heard and seen.
Key Takeaways:
- Don't Let the Vision Stop You: Individuals should not be dissuaded by the absence of a clear vision or the overwhelming nature of their calling. Even if the vision appears intimidating, it should not impede action.
- The Details Come with Action: Clarity and understanding will naturally unfold through the process of engagement. Not every step will yield immediate success, but each step holds intrinsic value.
- Don't Go It Alone: Community and support are critical in the journey toward discovering one's purpose. Surrounding oneself with supportive individuals who comprehend the journey can offer guidance and motivation.
Journal Question:
Reflect on a moment in your life that catalyzed a significant realization about your purpose. How did this experience shape your journey, and what steps can you take to further explore your calling?

"Confidence is not an inherent trait but rather a skill that can be cultivated through practice and faith." ~Tami Imlay
When I talk to people about what they need to make things happen…they typically say motivation and confidence. I have spoken of motivation being a by-product of action…it’s a by-product of the progress we see as we take action. Today, I wanted to dive into today is how confidence is good- but UNSHAKABLE confidence is even better. The cool thing is that we can have unshakable confidence right now! We can dive into it and build that muscle like building a bicep! Ready to see what’s possible?
Ready to take action?
- Book a Call with Me!
- Set a time on your calendar right before our call to take a moment and breathe. This is the only preparation you'll need. It's that easy!
- Join the call and allow your heart to be heard and seen.
Let's dive into three essential steps to make any dream come true:
- Step Outside Your Comfort Zone: Life doesn’t happen in your comfort zone. It’s where growth gets stunted. Embrace the discomfort, the “what did I just do” moments. You’re not alone in this; many women are navigating this zone too. Share your journey with a friend for support and encouragement.
- Make Sacrifices: Sacrifice today’s comfort for tomorrow’s success. This might mean less Netflix and more time reading or working on your goals. I did it as a single mom with toddlers, balancing school, work, and an internship. Know what you’re not willing to sacrifice too—like your core values or essential self-care.
- Persist Through Failure: Setbacks aren’t the end; they’re part of the journey. I had to embrace being an entrepreneur, learning from failures and pushing through. Know yourself, your purpose, and let God guide you. Success comes when you align your actions with who God created you to be.
Key Takeaways:
- Confidence as a Skill: Confidence is not an inherent trait but a skill that can be cultivated through practice and faith.
- Faith-Based Confidence: For those who follow Christ, confidence is bolstered by divine support and guidance, providing a spiritual foundation for their actions.
- Resting in God: Confidence is rooted in faith, supported by biblical passages that encourage strength, courage, and self-discipline.
- Positive Self-Talk: Positive self-talk is crucial in building confidence. Focusing on strengths and past achievements can help overcome self-doubt.
- Indicators of Low Confidence:
- Seeking approval from others can erode self-confidence.
- Avoiding challenges stifles personal growth.
- Negative self-talk fosters self-doubt.
- Characteristics of Unshakable Confidence:
- Willingness to take risks.
- Handling criticism constructively.
- Consistency in actions and decisions.
- Strategies for Building Confidence:
- Embrace small steps for gradual confidence growth.
- Maintain an evidence list of past successes.
- Surround yourself with confident people for inspiration and motivation.
- Vision and Purpose: Having a vision for one’s life and aligning it with purpose is integral to building unshakable confidence.
Journal Question:
Reflect on a recent challenge you faced. How did your self-talk influence your approach to this challenge, and what steps can you take to ensure your self-talk supports your confidence in future situations?

We all have something we want…it may be a bigger house, new car, or maybe more help (housekeeper, meal prep, childcare…). We may have dreams of starting something new, doing something different, going on an adventure! What would it take for you to actually GET it? Many times the difference between a dream and a wish is a plan. We get to get curious and ask ourselelves…
WHAT AM I WILLING TO DO TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN?
This simple question can be life changing. Because if the answer is nothing…I’m not willing to do anything -girl put that dream to bed and don’t feel guilty for it. There are things in my life that i have said I wanted and then when push comes to shove…I realized i wasn’t willing to work for it…which means I really didn’t want it.
Then there are things that I am willing to get uncomfortable, take action, and make sacrifices knowing that the outcome will be worth it! Today, we are diving into this question…let’s do this!
- Pursuing Meaningful Goals: Focus on dreams and goals that hold substantial meaning rather than fleeting desires. This requires introspection to discern what one genuinely wants in life.
- Self-Reflection and Effort: Engage in self-reflection regarding your aspirations and consider the effort required to achieve them. Not everyone is prepared to invest the necessary effort, and it's crucial to distinguish between authentic desires and superficial wishes.
- Stepping Outside of Your Comfort Zone: Growth occurs when one ventures into the discomfort zone, which is filled with new experiences and opportunities. This zone is often marked by uncertainty and fear, yet it is also where personal development takes place.
- Making Sacrifices: Significant goals often necessitate sacrifices, such as time, comfort, and financial resources. It's important to identify the sacrifices one is willing to make while ensuring self-care remains a priority.
- Persisting Through Failure: Persistence is critical when encountering setbacks. Failure is an inherent part of the journey and should not dissuade individuals from pursuing their goals. Cultivating resilience and maintaining commitment is essential.
- Self-Awareness and Authenticity: Understanding one’s purpose and aligning actions with personal values and identity can lead to a more fulfilling path toward objectives. Success is more attainable when operating from a place of authenticity.
Journal Question:
Ok! It’s your turn! What is a goal/dream/vision that you have right now? Time to get curious…what are you willing to do to get it?

"Feelings of inadequacy should not be seen as limitations but rather as reminders of God's sufficiency." ~Tami Imlay
We all feel that we aren’t enough, don’t have enough…and allow those thoughts to resonate, keep us safe…keep us stuck. Friend, you are enough…and the rest can be taken care of by God. We need to use those thoughts of “not enough” to propel us into action. Whether it is into prayer or diving into finding out the truth, we cannot allow those thoughts to keep us from achieving our God-given dream.
2 Corinthians 12:9-10 “And He said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly, therefore, will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore, I take pleasure in my infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.”
Ready to take action?
- Book a Call with Me!
- Set a time on your calendar right before our call to take a moment and breathe. This is the only preparation you'll need. It's that easy!
- Join the call and allow your heart to be heard and seen.
Key Takeaways:
- Widespread Experience of Inadequacy: Many people struggle with feelings of not being smart enough, good enough, or lacking sufficient resources, which can hinder their ability to fully engage with life and seize opportunities.
- Consequences of Inadequacy:
- Limiting Beliefs: These feelings can erode confidence and motivation, making it difficult to pursue goals.
- Fear of Failure: This fear can paralyze individuals, preventing them from taking necessary risks.
- Cycle of Comparison: Constantly comparing oneself to others can exacerbate feelings of inadequacy.
- Faith Perspective: For followers of Christ, feelings of inadequacy should be seen as reminders of God's sufficiency. Referencing 2 Corinthians 12:9-10, the speaker emphasizes that God's grace is sufficient and strength can be found in moments of weakness.
- Reframing Failure: The speaker encourages listeners to acknowledge that while failure is possible, success is equally attainable. They reassure that God has beautiful plans for each person, and fear of failure should not hinder them from chasing their dreams.
- Detrimental Nature of Comparison: The speaker urges listeners to stop comparing themselves to others and to recognize their unique strengths and motivations. Celebrating others' successes rather than viewing them as threats is important.
- Enneagram Insights: The Enneagram is introduced as a tool to understand how different personality types experience feelings of inadequacy, illustrating the complexity of this emotional experience.
- Actionable Steps to Counteract Inadequacy:
- Define "Enough": Individuals should define what "enough" means to them personally.
- Practice Gratitude: Reflecting on past experiences where one felt they had enough can foster a positive mindset.
- Set Realistic Goals: Setting achievable goals and seeking support from others can help navigate feelings of inadequacy.
- Engage in Open Conversations: Sharing experiences and participating in workshops like the "vision lab" can help create a clear vision for one's life and goals.
Journal Question:
"Reflect on a time when you felt inadequate or insufficient. What specific thoughts and feelings did you experience? How did these feelings impact your actions and decisions? Now, consider the perspective shared in the podcast about viewing inadequacies as reminders of God's sufficiency. How might this perspective change the way you view your own limitations? Write about how you can redefine what 'enough' means to you personally and identify actionable steps you can take to foster a more positive mindset and pursue your goals with confidence."

Ever have the thought…” This is sooooo hard?” Yup, I’ve never thought it either!
Ok! So the real deal is that I think this thought several times a day!
When we focus on how hard things are…we stay stuck. When we think about opportunities…we grow! We can do hard things, ladies! We get to do hard things! We are not afraid of hard things! Let’s do this!
Ready to take action?
- Book a Call with Me!
- Set a time on your calendar right before our call to take a moment and breathe. This is the only preparation you'll need. It's that easy!
- Join the call and allow your heart to be heard and seen.
Key Takeaways:
- We All Hesitate: It's super common to hesitate when starting something new because we think it'll be tough. Tami talks about her own fear of swimming and how their kids are fearless, diving off high boards.
- Mental Barriers: Often, the belief that something is hard stops us from even trying. This mindset can lead to procrastination and, eventually, not achieving our goals.
- Reframe the Challenge: Instead of labeling a task as "hard," think of it as something new you haven't tried yet. This shift in perspective can make it easier to take the first step.
- Break It Down: Break the “hard” thing into smaller steps This makes the whole thing seem less overwhelming.
- Learn from Others: Seeing that others have successfully tackled similar challenges can be super motivating. It shows that success is possible.
- Share Your Journey: Your experiences and struggles aren't just for you. They can help others too.
- Take Action: Tami encourages us to identify what we've been avoiding because it seems too hard and to start taking small steps toward it. It's all about growth and learning.
- Empowerment: The overall message is to step out of your comfort zone, confront your fears, and take actionable steps toward your goals. It's all about community, support, and using your experiences to help others.
Journal Question:
Reflect on a time when you hesitated to start a new project or pursue a goal because you believed it would be too difficult. What were your specific fears or concerns? How did these perceptions impact your actions? Consider how you might reframe this experience as an opportunity for growth and learning. What small, manageable steps could you take to overcome similar challenges in the future?

#243 Say Yes to Your Dream: Embracing God's Vision and Overcome Self-Doubt
Monday Aug 26, 2024
Monday Aug 26, 2024
Hey there, friend!
Do you have a dream or vision tugging at your heart, but you keep putting it off? Maybe it's a goal or an idea that won't leave you alone, yet you find yourself doing everything around it without diving in completely. Today, I want to chat about what it's costing you to not say yes to yourself and the dream that God has placed in your heart. What is it costing you to sit and dream rather than take a leap of faith and GO FOR IT? God has put a dream in our hearts for a reason…He cultivated goals in us to push us and shape us. When we continually say no to ourselves…we feel it in our bones. We feel guilt, shame, and unfulfilled…how long do you want to feel this way?
When we say yes- that’s when amazing things happen!
Ready to take action?
- Book a Call with Me!
- Set a time on your calendar right before our call to take a moment and breathe. This is the only preparation you'll need. It's that easy!

Key Takeaways:
- Supportive Environment: The importance of having a supportive figure, like a parent, who encourages exploration and supports aspirations, contrasting with the self-doubt individuals often impose on themselves.
- Consequences of Self-Denial: Avoiding risks and playing it safe can lead to unfulfilled potential, missed opportunities, and personal stagnation.
- Pursuing Dreams: Not chasing one's dreams can result in a loss of joy and fulfillment, leading to a sense of longing for something more meaningful.
- Action Over Inaction: The journey toward dreams is about taking action and being obedient to one's aspirations, rather than focusing solely on the end result.
- Erosion of Self-Confidence: Repeatedly saying no to oneself can erode self-confidence, making future actions more difficult.
- Impact of Comfort Zones: Staying in one's comfort zone limits potential impact and growth. Everyone has unique potential to make a difference.
- Wasted Time: Excessive contemplation without action leads to wasted time and missed opportunities.
- Relationships and Collaboration: Avoiding deeper connections can hinder opportunities for collaboration and support. Vocalizing dreams can lead to valuable connections.
- Legacy: Dreams are meant to endure, and individuals have the potential to leave a lasting impact.
- Personal Growth: Pursuing dreams leads to personal growth, transformation, and a deeper understanding of oneself and one's purpose.
- Increased Confidence: Taking bold steps toward dreams builds self-assurance through small successes.
- New Opportunities: Committing to dreams opens up new connections and experiences.
- Fulfillment and Joy: Pursuing one's calling brings fulfillment and joy.
- Financial Rewards: Aligning strengths with dreams can lead to financial freedom and profitable ventures that create a positive impact.
- Call to Action: Listeners are encouraged to take the first step toward their dreams, connect with others, and explore possibilities through upcoming events and challenges.
- Choosing Joy: Embrace the journey of pursuing dreams and share the message with others who may benefit.
Journal Question:
Reflect on a dream or aspiration you have held onto but have not yet pursued. What self-doubts or fears have held you back? Write about how taking the first step toward this dream could change your life and what support you might need to move forward.
